Well, we just returned home from a 4-day trip to see Jarrod's dad and family in Augusta, Georgia. It was a lot of firsts for Nora including her first plane ride! We took a direct flight from Detroit to Atlanta. We tried to plan the flying time as best as possible but it still overlapped nap time both ways. Given that our child refuses to sleep unless she is nestled in bed ... we were nervous. She was an angel both times! On the plane ride home, there was a little boy a little bit older than her that screeched at the top of his lungs for the last half-hour of the plane ride. This got us a few dirty looks at the baggage claim because it prompted everyone to think it was Nora since the other baby had another connecting flight. However, when one lady commented, we quickly stood up for our little Nora!!! When we got to Georgia, Nora had a great time catching up with Grandpa and Grandma Yates and Uncle Alex and Aunt Lindsay. She kept cooing and smiling at Alex and we tried teaching her to say both Alex and Lindsay's names. The names were tough, but she had no problem shouting "dog" at the family dog, Petey, who I'm sure is glad to have her out of his domain since she shouted at him everytime she saw him and stole his attention away from Grandpa while doing it! Over the four days, we had a nice time relaxing by the pool and watching football -- we saw two exciting college games between the two favorite teams of those watching, Georgia and Iowa! What a win for the Hawkeyes! Nora also got her first boat ride on Grandpa's boat and even got to be co-captain for a little bit. Jarrod and I relived our younger days with a tube ride behind the boat and Nora squealed at each one of us as we got pulled along. Even though it was humid, it was nice to be in some 80+ degree weather one last time. We came home to a chilly fall day and the leaves are starting to change back in Michigan. Back to the grindstone now until our Las Vegas trip at the end of the month!
