The arrival of Nora Yates

Hi everyone,

We are so proud to announce that on Monday, 8/18, Nora Yates made her entry into this world. I was induced beginning Sunday night at about 9 p.m. After checking into the hospital, I was actually already having contractions, but couldn't feel anything. Because of that, I had to start on the low-dose pitocin right away. They upped the dosage over the 20 next hours. I received an epidural and so the labor was very comfortable though long. The delivery was very short, with Nora only needing about 20 min of pushing from her mom before she entered this world and tested out her lungs.

She has scored perfectly on all her check-ups so far and we are very proud to say that she is very, very healthy. And we of course think she is absolutely beautiful. Thank you for all the well wishes. Sorry we haven't gotten back to many of you. It is crazy how many nurses, doctors and volunteers come in to have you fill out paperwork and teach you things. We have been absolutely amazed by the wonderful experience we've had at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. Our room is like the size of a small apartment and from the wonderful nurses to our great OB staff and Nora's new pediatrician, everyone has been terrific. We really couldn't have asked for a better experience.

We will be going home tomorrow.

Thanks again for all of your thoughts and wishes.

Love,

Molly and Jarrod
