Happy Holidays!

Hi! I love the holiday season! This year has been pretty warm so far so it's a little weird to think Christmas is almost here. Since Halloween, we have enjoyed visits from Grandma Linda; we went to visit Memaw in Iowa for Thanksgiving; and we went to visit Santa. Here are some pictures documenting the last month or so. Hope you all are having a wonderful start to your month!

Grandma Linda and Nora worked together on a lot of awesome crafts, including
these ornaments for our tree!

We went to visit Santa in his very own cabin and we were the only kids there! It was such a cool experience!

At the Holiday Magic Parade in downtown Royal Oak, we saw Santa, Mrs. Claus and two real reindeer

We tried very hard to get a nice turkey picture with Memaw - but this is the best we could do.
Makes me laugh every time!

Halloween 2012

I'm about a month behind ... typical! Here's some pics of our Halloween this year. The boys mastered the words "Trick or Treat" and were so excited to eat candy! I threw a few recent pics in too. Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Fall Fun!

In Michigan, the fall season is ruled by apple orchards and cider mills. There are TONS of them in Metro Detroit. We have went a couple of times this year - our annual trip to the Yates Cider Mill (no relation - haha) and we also went to the Franklin Cider Mill this year. Here are some Fall pics! :)

This is the line to get cider and donuts - I still think it's my favorite though!!!

With her Apple Sipper - it was a pretty cold days so the bees weren't out to bother us- Major Plus!

These guys thought they'd relive their newborn days and spend some time cuddling in the same crib recently.

This is why I'm never in any shots - this is classic- I am the only one looking!!!

This is one of her many facial expressions

These two both LOVE to cuddle - but typically only with each other. :)

Look we got apple sippers too! Yay!

Pensacola Beach

We took our first real vacation as a family of five last week when we traveled to Pensacola Beach, Florida. Jarrod's dad has a condo there that he owns with beautiful ocean views. It is seriously one of the most peaceful, beautiful places I've been. Maybe it is the time of year we go, but it always feels like we are at the end of the earth in a place not too many people visit. It is just so GORGEOUS. We spent five days down there with Bob and Laurie and had an excellent time. We mostly played on the beach, but we also went to a great little zoo and took a ride on an air-conditioned Ferris wheel. (Yes, you read that right!) The kids traveled pretty well. Pensacola is a small airport so a direct flight was impossible but they did awesome even with some delays on the way back! Laurie got a new camera and was trying her hand at photography while we were there. We were lucky to be her test subjects! She got some AMAZING shots. The zoo was really neat too! It was a small, family place, but they actually let you feed a lot of the animals. For anyone who has ever seen the movie, "We bought a zoo", it reminded me of that zoo after they fixed it all up. You could get really close to all of the animals and they had some great exotic stuff. They also had A LOT of room for some of the animals to roam, including a big chimpanzee island and huge prairie/meadowland that some of the zebras, antelope, etc. were roaming in. It was a really cool place!

The condo is surrounded by water on three sides and has a huge, wraparound balcony that shows off all the water views. This is looking straight into the Gulf of Mexico

Beautiful sunsets every night

Up close and personal with a Spider Monkey!
